How does the scoring work?

Points will be awarded based on percentages of the standard within your age group. What that really means is that you will have the opportunity to earn 1000 points per event. Each age group will have a different baseline for each event. If you meet that baseline, you will receive the full 1000 points. If you do not, you will receive a percentage based on your performance. The persons with the highest total accumulated points will win! That also means that the younger group has to be faster than the older groups to get the full 1000 points.

Can I Come and practice?

Yes, you can come and pay the standard drop-in fee or purchase a punch card. You are able to drop in during the weekday from 6-7 am, 9-10 am, 12-1 pm  and 5:30-7:30 pm. The rate is $20 for a single drop-in, $75 for 5 punches, $120 for 10 punches, $165 for 15 punches and $200 for 20 punches.

What if I can't do all of the obstacles?

For any obstacles you are not able to complete, you will receive a time penalty. You will have time to practice in the weeks before and even the minutes before you actually start the event. See the rulebook for the full list of modifications that you can do and the associated time penalty. For example, if you cannot scale the 8' wall, you will be able to get an assist for a 30 sec. penalty.

What clothes/shoes should I wear?

We recommend wearing dri-fit comfortable workout clothes and shoes with good traction (not flat). There are specialized OCR shoes you can purchase but a good set of hiking shoes with lugs will do just fine.  And don’t forget the sunscreen if you burn easily. We also recommend a pair of non-surgical gloves to cover those hands when putting on the sunscreen. It can make your hands really slippery.

Should I bring extra clothes?

It is advisable. You will get sweaty and dirty.

What about bad weather?

It will take a lot to cancel in the event of weather. If it happens, we’ll let you know in advance.

Am I going to get muddy?

Not unless it’s rainy. However, you will likely get dirty.

How old do kids need to be?

The course is designed for adults and we find that kids typically need to be at least 12 to reach everything.
